3views

WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus called on countries around the world to draw conclusions from the current epidemiological situation and prepare for possible new pandemics.

The director general of the organization made a corresponding statement during the summit of small island developing states on healthcare, news agencies report.

According to Ghebreyesus, the global community needs to do everything necessary to quickly identify and prevent the spread of new diseases.

The Director General of the World Health Organization believes that this will be facilitated by compliance with the rules of first aid, as well as the development of medical services.

The head of WHO drew attention to another important issue – vaccine inequality.

Ghebreyesus noted that in many developing countries there is a shortage of vaccines against COVID-19, and the vast majority of injections occur in only 10 countries.
