The World Health Organization has published data on the number of new cases of coronavirus infection in the world over the past week.

According to published information, not only the number of infected people has increased, but also the number of deaths among patients diagnosed with COVID-19.

It became known that the number of infected patients in the world has increased by 3 million over the past 7 days.

However, in the period from July 5 to July 11, the number of deaths increased. During the same period, 55 thousand patients died from complications of coronavirus infection.

In percentage terms and in comparison with previous indicators, the incidence in the world over the week increased by 10%, and mortality by 3%.

The situation is most acute in Brazil, where more than 333 thousand residents have fallen ill.

The situation looks a little better in India, the homeland of the “delta” coronavirus. 291 thousand people fell ill here.

The highest increase in the spread of coronavirus infection is observed in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Meanwhile, in the Americas, the incidence fell by 3%.
