Currently, about 80 cases of the disease have been confirmed, and 50 are under investigation. As surveillance expands, more cases are likely to be reported, – MIA “Russia Today” WHO statement.

According to the organization, monkeypox is spreading among certain animal species in certain countries.

For this reason, outbreaks of the disease occur from time to time among local residents and tourists.

But the latest outbreaks in 11 countries are not typical, as they were recorded in non-endemic countries.

In these countries, WHO, together with relevant organizations, is organizing expanded epidemiological surveillance, hoping to bring the situation with the spread of monkeypox under control.

The WHO also reports that this virus spreads differently than COVID-19, which is still present on the planet.
