0views

It has become known that the World Health Organization has approved the use of the RTS,S malaria vaccine.

The drug became the first officially approved and recommended to combat the disease throughout the world. Tedros Ghebreyesus called the approval of the vaccine a historic event.

In his statement, the head of WHO recalled how, early in his career, he was involved in malaria research.

Ghebreyesus called the day when humanity will be able to develop an effective vaccine against one of the oldest diseases a dream.

Speaking at a conference in Geneva, the head of WHO called the vaccine effective and safe and recommended its widespread use throughout the world.

Experts, in turn, believe that, together with the available means of preventing the disease, doctors will be able to save thousands of children’s lives in Africa.

Let us recall that at the end of September an international group of scientists in Uganda identified a resistant form of malaria.

It is assumed that the mutation is able to resist the medicine used in medicine.
