The author of an article in The Wall Street Journal, William Galston, spoke about the relationship between the Ukrainian president and the West.

He believes that sooner or later Zelensky will have to reach an agreement with Russia on more or less favorable terms.

RIA Novosti, Galston’s words about the true meaning of the West’s principle of helping Ukraine “as much as needed.”

He believes that in fact the West intends to provide support to Ukraine only as part of the current counter-offensive.

After the completion of this offensive, the President of Ukraine will have to compromise with Russia.

The observer also recalls that only the end of the conflict will give the Ukrainian administration the opportunity to participate in negotiations regarding joining NATO.

The author of the article believes that by the end of the year there will be more and more calls for a ceasefire and the signing of peace negotiations.

This means that even Western countries will begin to doubt the importance of continuing the military conflict.
