The petition informing the Federal Supreme Court (STF) of the new appointment was filed with the court at around 8:30 pm.

Villa Nova was the legal representative of X in Brazil before the company ordered the suspension of profiles with anti-democratic content.

What’s missing for X to return to operating in Brazil?

To resume operating in the country, however, X still needs to pay a fine and the STF must be sure that all profiles have been blocked.

A court source informed the CNN on Friday night that there was still no such survey.

If X complies with these three rules, it will be able to operate in the country again.

Authorization, however, can only be given by the STF after verifying whether these items have been complied with or not.

The indication was one of the requirements for the social network to be released in the country after lockdown

Last Thursday (19), Moraes had given 24 hours for legal representation to be proven. .

The decision was taken shortly after X informed the STF that lawyers André Zonaro Giacchetta and Sérgio Rosenthal started to represent the platform in the cases taking place in the Court.

The minister asked the company to send registration documents with the Commercial Board and to prove the appointment of the lawyers mentioned to officially represent it.

“There is no proof of the return of X’s activities, nor of the regularity of the constitution of its new legal representatives or even its new lawyers, as demonstrated by the successive changes of patrons narrated in the previous report. There is, therefore, no proof of the regularity of X’s representation in Brazilian territory, as well as the legality of the appointment of new lawyers”, said the minister in the decision.

Platform was fined again this week

for the update that allowed access to the platform for some users in Brazil in recent days.

Brazilians’ access to the social network was made possible after billionaire Elon Musk’s company changed its servers, making it difficult for internet operators to block. This then allowed some people to even post on the platform.

At the time, the company argued that the change was made because the infrastructure to provide the service in Latin America became inaccessible to its team after the blockade in Brazil.

According to the company, the change caused an “involuntary and temporary restoration of the service for Brazilian users”.
