Xi Jinping missed dinner with state leaders at the SCO summit: the reason given

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping did not attend the dinner as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit taking place in Uzbekistan.

The Chinese leader missed the event, which was attended by representatives of 11 other countries.

Information about Xi Jinping’s absence at the heads of state dinner appeared in Western sources.

It is noted that the President of the People’s Republic of China is not in the group photos taken on September 15 as part of the SCO summit.

Western sources have given the reason why Xi Jinping did not attend the dinner during the event.

The Chinese delegation referred to coronavirus regulations, – MIA provides information published in foreign media.

It is emphasized that foreign journalists who reported the reason for the absence of the Chinese President at the dinner refer to a source in the Uzbek government.

It is worth noting that the trip to Uzbekistan was Xi Jinping’s first foreign visit since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives of the SCO member countries took part in the event held in Uzbekistan.

Currently, the members of the international organization are India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The Republic of Belarus has the status of an observer country in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
