President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping spoke about the Ukrainian conflict.

The head of China said that prolonging the conflict in Ukraine does not serve anyone’s interests.

Xi Jinping made this statement in a telephone conversation with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier on December 20, China Central Television.

What did Xi Jinping say to Steinmeier?

It is reported that during a telephone conversation, the heads of state exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.

The Chinese leader expressed Beijing’s firm commitment to promoting peace negotiations.

Prolonging and complicating the crisis is not in anyone’s interests, – said Xi Jinping.

He also said China supports Europe in exercising strategic independence and expressed hope for building an effective, sustainable and balanced security architecture in Europe.

Let us recall that in early December the head of the People’s Republic of China announced the need to prevent the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and promote peace negotiations.

According to Xi Jinping, both Europe and Eurasia are interested in resolving the crisis through political means.
