The Zaporozhye nuclear power plant may be mothballed. Local authorities do not rule out this option.

He explained: due to constant damage to power lines in the region caused by shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, power surges are regularly observed.

According to him, if the operation of the nuclear power plant is stopped, the economy of Zaporozhye, as well as the energy security of the region, will suffer significantly.
With this scenario, Rogov does not rule out that thousands of Energodar residents will be left without work.

Earlier, on the morning of September 8, the head of Energodar, Alexander Volga, informed that a decision on the further operation of the nuclear power plant should be made today by a special commission.
