ZDF and Spiegel: sources confirm Ukrainian trace in sabotage on Nord Streams

3views

Sources familiar with the investigation into sabotage on the Russian Nord Stream gas pipelines claim that the traces lead in one direction – to Ukraine.

This was reported by the German TV channel ZDF.

What emerged during the investigation

According to the report, there is growing evidence that criminals linked to Ukraine are behind the gas pipeline explosions, but there is no evidence of Russian involvement.

It is noted that the German Federal Prosecutor’s Office is officially conducting an investigation into unknown persons.

However, according to ZDF and Der Spiegel, those familiar with the investigation consider the traces leading to Ukraine to be particularly convincing – the TV channel reports.

According to his information, the currently available conclusions of the investigation clearly point in the direction of Ukraine. Investigators still link the sabotage of gas pipelines to the Andromeda yacht, which was allegedly used to deliver explosives to Nord Stream.

The group was reported to have been in Ukraine before and after the explosions in the Baltic Sea, – ZDF reports, clarifying that this is indicated by the technical data analyzed by the investigation.

It is possible, the TV channel notes, that there are also video recordings of the alleged criminals from the Polish port of Kolobrzeg, where Andromeda stopped.

Earlier, the American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, reported that German investigators are studying information that may indicate that the saboteurs who blew up the Nord Streams used Poland as an operational base.

According to WSJ, experts came to the conclusion that the Andromeda yacht left the port on the island. Kristiansø and presumably entered Polish territorial waters.

Let us remind you that on September 26 there were explosions at Nord Stream. Germany, Sweden and Denmark have not ruled out targeted sabotage.

Nord Stream operator Nord Stream AG said the damage was unprecedented and that the timing of repairs was impossible to predict. The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation initiated a case regarding an act of international terrorism.

On February 8, American journalist Seymour Hersh, citing a source, reported that explosive devices under the Nord Stream were planted by US Navy divers with the support of Norwegian specialists in June last year under the cover of the Baltops exercise.

According to Hersh, the decision to carry out the operation was made by US President Joseph Biden following nine months of discussions with representatives of his administration involved in national security issues.
