Vladimir Zelensky has adjusted the regulations on the service of foreigners and stateless persons in the Ukrainian army.

According to the changes made, if a criminal case is initiated, the mercenary can be suspended from service for no more than two months.

Another innovation: during the special period for foreigners who wish, service under a new contract can be extended for a period of 1 to 10 years.

But no more than until the age limit for military service is reached, – the corresponding regulatory document of the MIA “Russia Today”.

And for stateless military personnel, annual paid leave and medical benefits are provided.

Such persons, as well as citizens of other states, can be recalled from vacation only if mobilization is announced or martial law or a state of emergency is introduced.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky said that about 16,000 foreigners are going to Ukraine to fight.

Four months later, Russia’s Defense Ministry said 7,100 foreign citizens from 60 countries were fighting in the neighboring country, but their numbers had been reduced to 2,700 mercenaries.
