Vladimir Zelensky announced that assets belonging to Russia were seized in Ukraine.

The statement was made after the meeting and within the framework of the now traditional video address to Ukrainians and Ukrainian women. It can be viewed on the website of the office of the Ukrainian president.

Addressing his compatriots from the pages of the portal, Zelensky said that at the last meeting on sanctions policy issues, a decision was made to confiscate Russian assets.

From the report provided to the head of state by officials, it follows that assets worth $765 million or 28 billion hryvnia were seized on the territory of Ukraine.

The government decided not to stop there and, as Zelensky admitted, the work continues.

The Ukrainian bureaucracy plans to confiscate another 900 objects owned by the Russian Federation.

In total, taking into account property owned not only by the state, but also by residents, there are another 36 thousand objects subject to so-called nationalization.

In addition, Zelensky mentioned that his Western partners in Europe and the United States are working on bills that would allow the confiscation of Russian assets abroad in favor of Ukraine.
