Zelensky asked Europe and the United States to launch a counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces earlier

Vladimir Zelensky said that in conversations with officials from the United States and European countries, he advocated for Kyiv to launch a counteroffensive earlier.

According to him, he tried to obtain the necessary weapons from Western partners for this purpose.

The Ukrainian leader thanked the United States, calling the overseas power the leader in support provided to Kyiv.

However, I told them, as well as the European leaders, that we would like to launch our counter-offensive earlier and for this we need all the weapons and ammunition – Zelensky MIA “Russia Today”.

The head of state explained: a later offensive, in his opinion, means that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will advance more slowly.

As for the really slow counter-offensive, which is also recognized by Kiev, Zelensky explained this by “difficulties” during the fighting.

“I wanted our counteroffensive to happen much earlier, since everyone understood that if it unfolded later, then most of our territory would be mined,” he explained.

And he added: it turns out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are providing the enemy with time and opportunities to lay more mines and prepare defensive lines.

Zelensky also called on the United States to transfer fourth-generation F-16 fighters to Ukraine.

He emphasized: now the question is not about Kyiv achieving an advantage in the sky, but only about achieving equality with Russia.

The F-16 won’t just help those on the battlefield advance. Without air cover, it’s simply very difficult,” the president concluded.
