The Armed Forces of Ukraine received an order from the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to recapture the southern regions of the country.
To carry out this task, the Ukrainian army has about one million soldiers.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Alexey Reznikov, TASS agency citing The Times.
We understand that politically this is extremely necessary for our country, – the minister commented on the task of reconquering the southern regions of the country.
And he added: Vladimir Zelensky gave the corresponding order to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – to develop the plan necessary to return to the control of Kyiv.
After that, the General Staff must do their job and say that we need to do this and that in order to achieve the goal,” Reznikov noted.
According to him, currently the number of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters is about 700,000 people.
And together with the National Guard, police and border guards, the authorities can involve a total of about 1 million people in the fighting.
According to the head of the department, Western weapons can help the Ukrainian Armed Forces fulfill the assigned tasks, so he called on NATO and the organization’s allies to increase the volume of their supplies.
Alexey Reznikov also reported that two brigades of Ukrainian military are currently undergoing training in Great Britain.
