On Wednesday, December 6, Japan is scheduled to host an online summit of the G7 countries.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is expected to speak at the event.

It is known that the meeting participants intend to discuss, in addition to the Ukrainian issue, the situation in the Middle East, as well as the problem of artificial intelligence.

The general public was informed about this by the Secretary General of the Japanese government, Hirokazu Matsuno.

He noted that amid the “complex crisis” facing the world, Tokyo, which currently holds the G7 presidency, has been leading dialogues on two fronts.

The first direction: maintaining and strengthening a free and open world order based on the rule of law.

The second direction: taking more active steps to attract partners outside the G7.

Today, in the teleconference of the G7 summit, important international issues will be discussed: the situation in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, artificial intelligence and others, – the policy of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.

Also, Mr. Matsuno added, at the current summit they will summarize the work done and confirm cooperation within the G7.

According to him, Vladimir Zelensky is expected to speak at the event.
