Vladimir Zelensky said: Ukraine is in constant contact with the IAEA.

According to him, Kyiv is ready to skip the organization’s mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

Ukrainian diplomats, our nuclear scientists and the IAEA are in constant contact. Now they are working on sending an IAEA mission to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, – Head of State TASS.

According to Zelensky, Kyiv is ready to provide “proper control,” so an IAEA mission could be sent to the site in the near future.

It was previously reported that the route and schedule of the agency’s mission to the nuclear power plant was fully agreed upon by the organization with Russia in early June.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi planned to lead the mission.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the mission’s trip was disrupted at the last moment by the Security Department of the UN Secretariat.

A week ago, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres called for the demilitarization of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

The permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the organization, Vasily Nebenzya, did not agree with him, saying that in this case the station would become vulnerable to provocations and attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
