Zelensky announced an agreement had been reached with Western partners and said that the provision of warships was a matter of the “near future.”
According to the guarantor, Ukraine will be able to guarantee the safety of ships in the Black Sea transporting grain.
We have agreed with our partners and will accompany the ships at sea to ensure their safety. We already have specific agreements on receiving ships. This is a question of the near future,” Gazeta.ru quotes Zelensky with reference to Ukrainskaya Pravda.
At the same time, Zelensky announced the transfer of “very powerful” air defense systems.
According to him, they are intended to protect the Odessa region, through whose ports grain is shipped.
The politician did not specify the timing, but said that the request has “already been agreed upon” and transferred to Western countries.
Let us recall that on July 17 this year, Russia suspended participation in the grain deal.
After this, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that sea vessels heading to Ukrainian ports would be considered as carriers of military cargo.
The countries whose flags these ships will fly will be considered to be involved in the conflict on Kyiv’s side.
