Benji Gregory was a familiar face on our TV screens for all four seasons of the 1980s sitcom ALF. He also lit up our screens in several other shows, including The A-Team and T. J. Hooker.

It’s with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that former child star Benji Gregory, best known for his role in the hit 1980s sitcom ALF, has passed away at the age of 46.

Rebecca Pfaffinger, his sister, shared the sad news on social media. She told the celebrity news site TMZ that he had passed away last month. It seems he had fallen asleep in his car in a parking lot in Arizona. The heat must have got to him, and he died of heatstroke. His dog, Hans, also died.

“My family and I have suffered a tragic loss far too soon,” she wrote on Facebook.

Ben was a great son, brother, and uncle. He was a joy to be around and always made us laugh.

“While going through his things, I find myself laughing at little videos or notes of his, in between crying.

“My brother Ben was found in his car, along with his beloved service dog Hans, deceased on June 13. We believe he went there the evening of the 12th to deposit some residuals and never got out of the car to do so. He fell asleep and died from vehicular heatstroke.”
