How to Clean and Polish Your Microwave: Two-Ingredient Homemade Remedies

47views

The microwave is one of the most amazing time-saving appliances! It’s no wonder it’s one of the most widely used appliances in many homes. But it does take a little bit of use for food to “explode” inside and leave the walls coated with food and grease.

Cleaning appliances is a task that we tend to postpone, which can work against us with the microwave because the more time we let it pass, the more difficult it becomes to sanitize it. But with these homemade preparations of only two ingredients the task will become much easier.

Homemade preparations to clean the microwave

Vinegar and salt

For this trick you will need a microwave-safe container. Place a glass of water, a glass of white vinegar and a spoonful of salt and cover it with plastic wrap. Make small holes in the plastic with a fork. Put the container in the microwave and heat for five minutes.

Once this time has elapsed, leave the preparation inside the microwave with the door closed. After 10 minutes, disconnect, open the microwave and clean with a soft cloth. The steam from the vinegar will loosen the dirt from the walls of the appliance.

Vinegar and baking soda

This preparation requires two ingredients but a third can be added for more power. In a bowl, mix one cup of warm water with half a tablespoon of baking soda. Heat for five minutes in the microwave. When opened, unplug the appliance and use a cloth dampened with the baking soda water to clean the walls of the microwave.

The third ingredient that can be incorporated is a tablespoon of vinegar. Once mixed, the procedure can be repeated.

Water and lemon

The last option is to mix one cup of water with the juice of half a large lemon. Repeat the heating step of the previous tips. Another option is to use cloths with lemon and baking soda and apply them directly on the walls. It is important not to forget the plate and the turning of the microwave.
