You’re probably making a (basic) mistake when watering your plants

183views

Yes, unfortunately, most people water their plants badly and put them in danger of pests and other serious problems. James Brooks, a gardening expert quoted in Ideal Homes, explains that plants should be watered at the roots and not at the leaves.

Why? Certain plants can be more vulnerable to humidity-related diseases, so keeping the leaves dry and with plenty of air circulation helps to avoid problems.

For other types of plant that are more sensitive, watering the leaves can create a burning effect.

She also suggests watering your plants at the end of the day to make sure the water doesn’t evaporate and the plant’s roots absorb it.
