Al Jazeera: Ankara demanded that the Kurds leave three cities in the Syrian province of Aleppo

0views

Türkiye demanded that members of the Kurdish formations of the Syrian Democratic Forces immediately liberate three cities in the Syrian province of Aleppo from their presence.

This was reported by the TV channel with reference to official representatives of Turkey.

“Ankara demanded the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces from Manbij, Ain al-Arab and Tell Rifaat,” the statement said.

The Turkish side agreed that if the Kurds fulfill its demands within the agreed period, then Syrian government institutions and government officials will be able to return to the cities of Tell Rifaat, Manbij and Ain al-Arab.

In turn, as many media reports, Russian representatives in Syria are doing everything possible to ensure that Ankara’s conditions are met.

This will give hope that the Turkish military operation in the northern region of the country will be postponed.

The Turkish air force and artillery have been launching missile attacks on the provinces of Aleppo, Hasakah and Raqqa, where the Kurdish wing of the Syrian Democratic Forces is located, since November 20, 2022.

On November 23, the country’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the troops were in full combat readiness and could at any time launch a ground operation in northern Syria, where members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, banned in Turkey, had settled.
