Lawyer Estela Aranha was appointed special advisor to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). The act was made official in publication in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU).
Estela is the former Secretary of Digital Rights at the Ministry of Justice, having worked during the management of Flávio Dino, today (STF). Estela was fired by Ricardo Lewandowski when he, at the beginning of the year.
According to members of Palácio do Planalto, Estela will work within the presidency’s international advisory body, headed by former chancellor Celso Amorim.
Discussions about artificial intelligence (AI) and social networks must rely on the assessment of the former secretary, an expert on the subject. Estela is also a consultant on AI at the United Nations (UN).
At the secretariat, she gained prominence for her combative actions in relation to big techs.
