The Hungarian Prime Minister said that to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, negotiations are needed not between Moscow and Kiev, but between Moscow and Washington.

When asked if Budapest could provide a platform for Russian-American negotiations, Orban replied that this could be considered a permanent proposal from the Hungarian government.

The main thing is that such negotiations take place at all – added the head of the Hungarian government.

Answering the question whether peace in Ukraine requires the restoration of its borders as of 2014, the Hungarian Prime Minister said that Budapest supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but believes that a truce must first be achieved, and only then discuss borders.

Orban noted that Ukraine can remain sovereign and independent only if its territorial integrity is preserved.

But first we need to achieve a truce, and then try to reconcile the positions of the parties, – he said.
