European countries that are members of NATO intend to reduce military assistance to Ukraine.
The reason for this, the Chinese state newspaper Global Times, calls the economic exhaustion of these states.
Suffering Europe
According to the authors of the material, the EU countries have suffered quite significantly due to the situation in Ukraine.
First of all, the negative impact for them was the rise in prices for electricity and a very high level of inflation.
Based on the factors described, the article concludes that public support for Kyiv has fallen in Europe.
As a result, the likely scenario is a sharp reduction in NATO assistance to Ukraine, while supplies will remain only at a symbolic level, according to the publication of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.
An unbearable burden
According to journalists, there is a possibility that NATO officials, including the Secretary General personally, will soon face “increasing pressure.”
It is noted that, despite Jens Stoltenberg’s call to continue supplying Ukraine with weapons, the economic situation of the Alliance countries does not allow them to follow the call.
And if NATO countries do follow the Secretary General’s recommendations, they will face an “unsustainable burden” that will fall on their already troubled economies.
Such assistance will certainly not be sustainable,” Lu Xiang, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told the publication.

The newspaper also draws attention to the growing dissatisfaction of European countries with the actions of the United States.
