Some journalists assessed the visit of Vladimir Zelensky as evidence of a split in the West.
In particular, Hamish de Bretton-Gordon writes about this in an article published on the pages of The Telegraph.
In his opinion, the Ukrainian President’s trip to the States indicates that the West is “collapsing” and is beginning to reconsider its attitude towards military assistance to Kyiv.
If Western unity had not begun to crumble, Ukraine’s leader might not have felt the need to leave his beleaguered country. – columnist for MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
He also suggested that Zelensky’s visit may indicate Kyiv’s “genuine concern” about the current situation.
According to the author of the material, Washington and NATO, by inviting the Ukrainian president, showed their potential for dominance in the current conditions.
Mr. de Bretton-Gordon came to the conclusion that Zelensky’s visit to the United States did not benefit Ukraine.
Zelensky should not have come to the West with a donation bowl – it should have been the other way around. “Ukraine, in fact, has destroyed the reputation of the army, which was once feared,” the journalist shared his opinion.
