The leadership of the CDU responded to the deputy’s statement, criticizing this “Christmas address” of its member.
CDU Secretary General Mario Chaya noted that the party does not support the ideas voiced by the deputy.
Earlier this fall, the Association of German Cities warned of a serious shortage of housing and resources to accommodate refugees from Ukraine.
It was reported that in winter they would be accommodated not only in hotels, but also in a number of much less comfortable institutions, including gyms.
