In the United States, progress in the Senate on the promised assistance to Zelensky has been slowed down – Bloomberg

The vote in the US Senate on the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $45 billion was slowed down.

The process was postponed just a few hours after Vladimir Zelensky, who arrived in the States on a visit, spoke in Congress.

Bloomberg reported this, noting that something completely different was expected – senators were supposed to vote for providing assistance to Kyiv as part of a total package of $1.7 trillion.

The vote, the newspaper writes, was postponed after Democrats rejected Republican Mike Lee’s proposal for one amendment.

It talks about additional funding necessary to “comply with coronavirus restrictions when crossing the southern border” of the United States, – the text of the material of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency.

Please note: if the temporary funding law is adopted, the most important decisions regarding the distribution of expenses will be postponed to next year.

Thus, Republicans can achieve a reduction in the cost part of the budget, as well as, possibly, a reduction in the volume of financial assistance to Ukraine.
